| After touring Vatican City we decided we would spend the remaining hours of daylight relaxing at the Spanish Steps. Our feet were already aching from the miles of walking and we were looking to cool our heated feet with a soothing aperitif. We didn’t realize how far the Spanish Steps were from Vatican City until we were too close to justify a cab. By the time we got to the top of the Spanish Steps we could barely feel our feet. Our reward however was a street-side café with a roof-top view of Rome and the sun painting its temple-riddled skyline a brilliant orange. |
