"I am a part of all that I have met. Yet, all experience is an arch where through gleams that untraveled world where margin fades, forever and forever when I move."

Our Cascais "landlord" insisted that Sintra was a city not to be missed. After an all day visit, we wouldn't disagree. A hour and a half-hour bus ride from Cascais, visitors are greeted with an immediate hike to the Moorish Castle or a quick bus ride to Pena Palace. Both are breathtaking with incredible views.
We brought a small picnic with us (a backpacker's mainstay) left room for a visit the local bakery for one of the best Portuguese desserts around, Bolo de Amêndoa (Almond cake). A personal recommendation of Francisco.
