| The hills truly are alive with the sound of music in Salzburg. It's just too bad I was trying so hard to recreate that movie moment while we were there. What do I mean? Well, we opted to take the self-guided tour of Salzburg and spent so much time just trying to locate the sights that we missed touring most of them. Regardless, we still enjoyed "discovering" Salzburg and had just as much fun getting lost and finding ourselves again. NOTE: Don't try to save a few bucks and take the bus tour if you really want to relive the actions of Julie Andrews. |

| While we didn't find all of the sights of The Sound of Music, we did manage to climb our own mountain (well, we took a chair lift to the top) and make our own music. Actually, Fletch tried to throw me off the mountain top to hear me sing on the way down. We also toured the home and museum of Mozart (and his sister's tomb), meandered through some of Salzburg's most stunning gardens, and of course sampled a few of Austria's famous beers at a local beer garden. |
