Sagres, the most south-westerly point of Europe and home to world explorer Henry the Navigator, proved to be more memorable for its winds and cool temperatures than its historical reference. Although you wouldn't know it from the picture of Fletch--Canadian blood.
While it was a nice respite from the blistering heat of nearby Lagos, we found ourselves doing the superficial "ooh and ah" when touring the famed lighthouse (its really the only site there). We were thankful that we had planned this as a day trip only. |
