Roussillon was another town that the locals claimed was an absolute-must if we were to know anything about the real Provence. An entire town that appears to be constructed out of the red rock it sits on, it reminded us of an Arizona city that would be perched off the side of the Grand Canyon. Okay, this hilltop town can’t boast the crevices of the Grand Canyon, but it does contain some similar “miniature” rock formations. We spent a half day here window-shopping (it seems that everything is made with the pigments from the earth), lunching and enjoying the spectacular views. |
