| With all of the excitement of the trip itself, we left little room for planning an official celebration in honor of our four-year anniversary and relied on spontaneity. Okay, truthfully, I completely forgot and Fletch relied on spontaneity. We found oursleves in a local's Taiwanese bar called Turtle House in the town of Nantau ("I got the turtle"), where it happened to be the owner's birthday. Conveniently they had a cake set, mysterious shots of alcohol lined on the bar ready to drink and Kylie Minogue blaring on the loud speakers (we could have done without the music) -- it proved the perfect setting for our celebration. |

| Fletch's famous "surprise" tactics indeed surprised me at ten minutes to midnight when he jumped up on stage with the Birthday Boy and proposed a toast to celebrate his birthday as well as our wedding anniversary. Oops! This is when it hit me that I had forgotten what day it was. We celebrated until 2:00 am with more mystery shots, loud music (not Kylie this time) and watched the locals play drinking games. We weren't brave enough to play with them. |
