"Get a piece of the rock." I can't remember which insurance company this slogan belongs to, but when you are standing in front of the rock of Gibraltar, you can understand why they chose this symbol to represent its strength and solidarity. However, it wasn't my passion for marketing that brought us to the real icon behind the slogan, my grandmother was born and raised on the rock. If you have never made the pigrimage to discover your roots, it is worth the journey.
We have to be honest and admit that we spent more time gazing at the long stretch of beaches in nearby La Linea than sightseeing with the monkeys (Gibraltar is famous for their primates). |
