"I am a part of all that I have met. Yet, all experience is an arch where through gleams that untraveled world where margin fades, forever and forever when I move."

We had heard from a few people that Cassis should not be missed if you want to enjoy the provincial coast. A seaside filled with “les calanques” or fjord-like inlets, Cassis’ bleached-white cliffs provide a stunning contrast to the deep blue Mediterranean Sea.

We didn’t stay in Cassis since we were on our way to the real St. Tropez, but a night in Cassis could be ideal to truly enjoy the crystal-clear waters and famed bouillabaisse.
Considered the poor man’s St. Tropez, we didn’t find anything poor about it. Beautifully colored buildings line a yacht-filled harbor crammed with seafood restaurants and expensive boutiques. We decided to take the one-hour boat cruise to see what “les calanques” were all about. They might as well defined them as “not so hidden beaches” since every calanque the boat took us into was thronged with sun bathers, cliff divers and swimmers. We could easily see why.
