Every city is a must-see destination when visiting the French Riviera. Cannes is no expection, especially being from Southern California where you hear about the film festival all year long.
We happened to arrive into town one week before the 2003 film festival so we were able to get the stars-eye view of Cannes.
Unfortunately our visit was met with cold temperatures and rain, but it didn't stop us from enjoying the sights. From oversized yachts, chic restaurants and expensive stores to high-heeled shoppers, lavishly dressed lunchers and dogs with studded-collars, we had plenty to keep us entertained.
It wasn't difficult to spot the "in" shops, nor was it hard to tell who was a resident and who was a visitor. We were easily identified as visitors since our low-top hikers wouldn't pass for metallic stilletos.
And no trip would be complete without a visit to the Carlton hotel! I keep trying to convince Fletch that next time we will stay there! |
