| A day trip from Braga, Barcelos is known for the open air market. However, the day we visited we happened upon a summer festival complete with dancers and actors. It was a nice respite from the long aisles of the market. |

| Used to frequenting many open air markets during the course of our travels, we found this one unique in that there not only were individuals hocking the typical items like handbags, shoes, clothes and gadgets, they had an extensive section of live animals ready for the kill. I've come a long way from my Vegetarian days, but I still don't want to see my evening meal walking around before I eat it. Of course, it didn't stop us from sharing an order of ribs for lunch. |
