| To start off our driving adventure, we decided to surprise our good friend Heather with an unplanned stop in Amsterdam. We had all traveled to Amsterdam once before and knew that we would be a guaranteed good time without even trying. Since our first visit was in the dead of winter, we were all looking forward to enjoying the canal-side cafes and walking the maze of streets by the warmth of the sun. We couldn't have asked for a better start to our trip. |

| If you haven't been to Amsterdam, don't believe eveything you hear. There is definitely more to do and see than the red light district and the coffeeshops. You can spend weeks exploring the canals, touring the world-renowned museums and lazying in one of the many parks. And if you are brave enough, bike. We, of course, stuck to walking since my track record for our year-long journey was indicating that I would probably fall victim to some tangle with either a moving bike or a passing car. Oh, and you could also spend endless hours trying to decipher the Dutch language--"It's so vieeerd." Like the sign below, do they really mean you can "rent to kill?" |
