"I am a part of all that I have met. Yet, all experience is an arch where through gleams that untraveled world where margin fades, forever and forever when I move."

11 Rue de la Foire, our home away from home (well, for two months anyway); we couldn’t have been luckier. With only a hope and a prayer since we booked this rental over the internet (few pictures available), we were pleasantly surprised to find a house that was three times the size of our place in Florence, complete with a wood-burning fireplace and a pool. Its two-levels and a loft, gave us plenty of space for us to truly live.

We grew fast friends with our landlords Nicole and Herve and found ourselves sharing many days with them sipping wine by the pool, speaking broken French over dinner and laughing about the nuances of our different languages. They embraced us like family and even introduced us to their family and friends, making sure we would not miss out on true provincial living. We even dubbed Herve “le grand fromage,” which means nothing to the French, but to us it was our translation of “the big cheese.”

Cat lovers, we didn’t have to be homesick for our cat Puss since Herve and Nicole have two of their own, Mala and Twix. They have become almost like our own.
